About the Practice
ABOUT THE THERAPIST

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in journalism and media studies from Rutgers University. Furthering my career, I earned my Masters in professional clinical counseling from La Salle University and received my school counselor license in New Jersey. I have completed my advanced counselor training and have been approved as a clinical supervisor. Additionally, I have had clinical training in trauma informed care, illness management and recovery, and have met all the requirements in New Jersey to practice independently as a licensed professional counselor.
My clinical experience began at a preschool family intervention program in Philadelphia called Community Council Health Systems. My work at CCHS focused on helping young children and their families move forward from trauma and abuse. The preschool environment allowed the children to learn healthy communication and social skills, enhance academically and process trauma by participating in play therapy weekly.
After receiving my masters degree, I moved back to New Jersey and started my post-graduate clinical work and training. I had the privilege of continuing my clinical experience at an intensive outpatient program for severe and persistent mental illness and addiction at Family Connections Wellness House. At Wellness House, I ran groups, family and individual counseling sessions centered on depression, anxiety, mood disorders, PTSD and addiction. With this experience I was able to learn and develop on my clinical skills and strengthen my treatment approaches and specialties.
After receiving my clinical hours, I started working at Saint Clare’s Outpatient Behavioral Health Services. My focus included working with adults and adolescents who were dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, addiction and past trauma. I was able to incorporate my expertise by using mindfulness techniques to reduce hypersensitivity, cognitive behavioral therapy to help client’s change their thoughts and behaviors to improve their quality of life and solution-focused therapy to help regulate daily stress. It was a pleasure working with a great team.
My overall experience has allowed me to work with all ages and develop a greater understanding in different level of needs for individuals. I am passionate in helping others. Empathy, understanding and non-judgement are important in building a healthy therapeutic relationship in a safe environment.
For your convenience, I use a program called Simple Practice that will electronically email my practice policies and documents to make the process as easy as possible. I look forward to working with each of you in your journey of self-discovery and positive change. Please check out my Contact page to schedule an appointment today.
